To build loyalty and make Oscar Mayer the bacon of choice in the grocery aisle, we set out to overturn consumers' belief that all bacon products are the same by positioning Oscar Mayer as the better bacon worth committing to. Armed with the insight that in love, as it is in bacon, there are a lot of options, but it’s important to be selective when looking for the one, we created Sizzl – the first and only dating app that helps bacon lovers find a soulmate who shares their same selective taste in bacon – especially one that’s been cured for 12 hours, and smoke-housed for another 12.
In partnership with Cannes award winning directors Terry Timely, Park Pictures, and Whitehouse Post, we launched a digital content campaign to advertise Oscar Mayer's new iPhone dating application where users are matched based off of their love for Bacon.
The app quickly transformed from a newsworthy story into a full-blown cultural phenomenon, garnering over 769 million earned impressions. It trended on Facebook two days in a row, saw 12,000 mentions online and drove over 20,000+ downloads of the app.
